What is the future of the outbound industry ?
The UNWTO predicts that India will account for 50 million outbound tourists by 2020. Indian outbound travel would prove to be a major contributor to the development of world tourism in the near future.
What would be the three best remedies for the travel companies to survive in the forthcoming times?
Be able to adapt quickly to the changing trends, increase your quality quotient and adopt an innovative and cost-effective approach to keep your target group interested at all times.
How would you rate MICE travel and what according to you is the future?
Pharmaceuticals & Insurance sectors are the biggest contributors to the MICE segment from India. The movement outside India is worth 2000 crores and is expected to grow at 12-15 percent.
Where do you see your company in the near future?
Orbitz has entered into a Joint Venture with ETA-Star a UAE based company and its annual turnover exceeds 4 billion USD. We are confident of attaining our objectives.
How does it feel to inherit one of India's largest travel brands ?
I definitely take pride in the fact but it is easy to inherit a brand or corporate entity by virtue of lineage. The real test lies in either sustaining its equity or at best taking it to the next level.
